It’s Job Week 2026!

It’s Job Week 2026!

That’s right, it’s here. The long awaited Job Week 2026!*

*no it’s not a real thing, but I’m trying to gather as much enthusiasm as possible. Look at me! I’m enthusiastic!

Have you ever seen someone more enthusiastic?!

After (amount of time redacted) of being unemployed, the ‘starving student/artist’ routine is getting a little bit old and I have decided to jump back into the job market with an intense week of job applications.

Anyone else who is in ‘job hunt’ mode (you brave souls, I salute you) knows the amount of energy it takes to find jobs, apply for them, and run the gauntlet of rejections/no response until that sweet offer of an interview (which could still end up in rejection anyway).

Is it a quantity game, so apply for as many jobs as possible, or a quality game, so spend time writing a perfectly crafted application? I did some really intense research (aka I googled it) and the answer is…

Well… it’s both. You can write quality applications, but you probably have to do a lot of them.

(Sigh. You’ve probably guessed that this isn’t my first week of applying for jobs. Nor, I suspect, will it be my last)

So, JOB WEEK 2026!

Enthusiasm! Focus! Snacks!

Here we go!

I’m getting pumped. I’m doing little exercises to warm up my fingers for all the cover letter typing they are about to be doing.

Good luck me.

I’m going to need it.

Time for a coffee, I think…

Ugh I just wrote a comment and it wouldn’t load… it went something like this: good luck! Make a spreadsheet and chart your progress – I have pie charts for every permutation of the data and it helps me keep perspective!

I’m Rhi

I’m just a writer trying to live slower and be more observant of my feelings.

I am also a bit silly.

This blog is a mishmash of all that.
