By that I mean I am taking a lot of trains.
So many trains.

In a way, this winter holiday has felt like a collection of train journeys, one after another. I’m moving along the rails of life, travelling in the carriage of experience, sitting in the seat of… uh… mild, constant anxiety.
Anyway, I hope the planet is happy that I’m not on a plane. I’m really trying here!

I’m back on the Eurostar right now as I type this and the wheels have just started turning on yet another adventure- but a homeward one this time. It’s goodbye Paris and hello London.
And when I say homeward, I mean homeward…ish. Obviously with it being the last day of the year and all, I couldn’t escape without one last family celebration at my parent’s house. After getting up at 6am to catch this train, I am sure that I am going to want to party very hard at midnight. Grumpy, tired Richard is a fantastic guest. (Even more so if champagne is involved. I can really put the ‘pain’ in champagne!)

Anyway, all of this just to say happy last day of 2024. It’s been a rough year so I give you permission to get a bit wild. Maybe have two chocolates from the box. Or the entire box. I won’t tell anyone.
See you next year!
