The Spooky Archives (Blogtober #20)

Today’s spooky thing actually links to the blog post I wrote a few days ago about a book I found in a second-hand bookshop. That book was written by the College of Physic Studies – where you can report your paranormal experiences and they will look at it through a scientific lens.

I can’t help draw a comparison between this real life college and the Magnus Institute – the fictional institute which does pretty much the same thing in the fantastically spooky podcast The Magnus Archives. Every episode of this podcast is a short story, delivered by ‘Head Archivist Johnathan Sims’ as he reads out old reports of paranormal experiences reported to the institute.

And… boy does it get spooky. I have been hooked and slowly making my way through the whole archive of episodes. The Magnus Archives is a completed podcast, and was so popular that they actually launched a sequel – The Magnus Protocol. I haven’t listened to this one yet, but I’m looking forward to hearing it when I get there.

(I have a friend who loved this podcast so much, she actually got a tattoo referencing one of the episodes. If people are getting permanent art of the podcast on their bodies, it can’t be a bad one, right?)

My suggestion is that if you listen to this podcast you don’t do it right before bed.

Or in the dark.

Apart from that… enjoy.

See you tomorrow!

I’m Rhi

I’m just a writer trying to live slower and be more observant of my feelings.

I am also a bit silly.

This blog is a mishmash of all that.
