I LIKE SPOOKY THINGS.
If this is brand new information to you, please go back and read the rest of the Blogtober posts.
It’s okay, I can wait.
Great, you’re back! Just in time for today’s spooky thing: my favourite deck of tarot cards!
My second favourite thing, after spooky things, is being reflective. Tarot cards have not helped me predict the future (yet) but every day they help provide me with a journal prompt and get me thinking about my life and how I am feeling. My first, and favourite, tarot deck is the Dark Wood Tarot, with words written by Sasha Graham and fantastic spooky art by Abigail Larson. Seriously, I could sit and stare at these cards all day.

(I currently own four decks, but I’m hoping to get to a sweet hundred before 2030.)
You can see some of the card artwork on Abigail Larson’s website, right here: https://abigaillarson.com/dark-wood-tarot/
If you haven’t tried tarot, I would very much suggest giving it a go. Simply draw a card at the start of the day, sit with it for a while, study it, see how it makes you feel, what images it draws to your mind, and then journal about it. Sometimes I find that there is a something deeper within me trying to get out, and the cards help me manifest it. Usually it’s ‘I need to be nicer to myself’ and I nod and say “yes, I should be nicer to myself,” and then proceed to do the exact opposite.
If you want more inspiration, the booklet that comes along with the deck (any deck, it doesn’t have to be this spooktastic one) usually has some suggestions on meanings for the cards, but you can completely ignore them if you feel something else.
Honestly, any reason to sit and stare at pretty artwork is a win for me.
Also, be nice to yourself.
See you tomorrow.
