So I caught the flu. Just over two weeks after recovering from COVID. And so the festive period that was supposed to be filled with relaxation and renewal was instead filled with shivering, sweat and an unimaginable amount of tissues.
My body forced me to sleep. I didn’t want to, but I could barely keep my eyes open. When they were open, this is the view I could see – the wardrobes at the end of my bed. I’m sure the wardrobes had more than one rude word flung in their direction during my most feverish moments, but I don’t think they will hold that against me.
Typically, the illness happened just as I started this project, which is meant to be about appreciating the world around me more. (I guess I should appreciate these wardrobes more?)
Talk about bad timing.
